Covid-19 Information

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO OUR PATIENTS:

We sincerely hope that you and your families are staying safe and healthy during this unsettling time.

Our office has always taken thorough precautions when it comes to infection control and the safety of our patients and team members. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety. We are closely following medical developments and publications regarding Covid 19, and have implemented the safety guidelines released by the San Francisco Department of Public Health, the California Department of Public Health, the American Dental Association, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It’s a bit dry, but the above links are available if you would like to thoroughly inform yourself on the recommended protocols.

We wish you all continued health and strength during this challenging time.

Please read the following information closely:

COVID-19 Mitigation Procedure for Patients

  • Health Screening: All patients will be screened for symptoms associated with Covid-19 and their temperatures will be recorded. In the event that a patient is exhibiting symptoms, the appointment will be cancelled and a Covid-19 test is required prior to rescheduling.
  • Oral Rinse: Patients will be required to use a hydrogen-peroxide based oral rinse prior to treatment.
  • Hand Sanitizer: Patients must sanitize their hands upon entering the office. Hand sanitizer is available at the front desk.
  • Face Coverings: Everyone who enters our office must do so with their mouth and nose covered. Patients will be instructed when it is appropriate to remove their face covering.
  • Companions: Patients may NOT bring friends, family, or others to their appointment unless that person is necessary (such as a person who provides mobility assistance, or a parent or guardian accompanying a minor).

Sterilization and Safety Procedures

  • Staff Screening: Team members undergo daily health screenings and temperature checks, and routine Covid-19 testing.
  • Enhanced Protective Measures: Clinical staff have implemented a layered approach of protocols, including PPE, frequent sanitization of surfaces, and physical distancing whenever possible.
  • Air Circulation: The windows are kept open to allow continuous circulation of fresh air throughout the office and operatories (it can get a little chilly, so patients may want to bring a jacket to their appointment).
  • Enhanced Cleaning and Sanitation: Cleaning protocols have been extended beyond the operatories to include sterilizing items or surfaces that may come in contact with people, such as pens, waiting-room chairs, doorknobs, and the credit card payment station.

Emergencies

  •  We are committed to providing care to all our patients. If a patient is experiencing a true dental emergency, they will be accommodated. However, we must be informed in advance if they are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19 or have been diagnosed with Covid-19 since we will need to close the office to other patients until all team members present at the time of the appointment have re-tested for Covid-19.
